And for this you can thank Erik Stehmann, a Netherlands-based designer who has created this brilliant dog-shaped scratching post for kitty to let off some steam while conditioning its claws.
The scratching post is named DOG, and sells for €649, with a smaller variant called PUP, which is €349.
“Not only does DOG protect your furniture from cat scratching, but it is also THE way for cats to release their frustrations on their ‘natural enemy!’” writes Stehmann.
Evidently he doesn’t know that they can be the best of friends, too. However, things have clearly gone too far for these cats who look like they’re having a violently good time.
