Airplane Travel Used To Be Pretty Awesome Back In The 1970s

Flying these days can be a stressful and frustrating experience. Annoying airport security, lack of legroom, uncomfortable seats and bad inflight food are just some of the complaints often made by passengers. But it wasn’t always this bad. In fact, during the 1960s and ’70s, the flying experience was actually quite leisurely.

Economy class was comfy and spacious, and looked far more luxurious than the drab seats we find today.

Great airplane travel service and experiences existed in the 1950s and '60s, but it was incredible around the 1970s.

But business class was even better.

From a spacious business class...

Don't you wonder if we'll ever get this back?

Unlike the closely arranged seats of today, business class in the 1970s resembled more of a lounge.

Flying was something people looked forward to, not something to dread.

Will we ever get these back?

...to a happy and fun stewardess crew.

Both economy and business class looked like luxury compared to what we have today. Hopefully we didn’t put a permanent downer on your air travel experience!
