This Confused 3-Year-Old Accidentally Invented Her Own Adorable New Year’s Tradition

Kids say and do the cutest thing, and one little girl’s festive misunderstanding has inspired a whole new tradition for one family.

Reddit user littleasskicker uploaded a picture of their daughter making an adorable mistake on New Year’s Eve, when she didn’t quite get what it meant to “make a toast”.

“We told out 3yr old that New Years is special because you get to toast to a new year,” wrote littleasskicker, “A few hours later she said, ‘ARE WE GONNA MAKE TOAST NOW?!’ and thus, a New Year’s Day tradition was born.”

So when the clock struck midnight, the family saw in the new year by raising slices of toasted bread. Some greeted 2017 with jam on toast, others with butter.

We’re definitely adopting this tradition for next year!
