Circular Bridge Slows Down Drivers, Encourages Them To Enjoy The View

A bridge has just been completed between the cities of Rocha and Madonado, Uruguay, that is designed to slow down drivers and encourage them to take in their surroundings.

Designed by architect Rafael Vinoly, the bridge took 12 months to build.

“The concept was to transform a traditional vehicular crossing into an event that reduces the speed of the cars to provide an opportunity to enjoy panoramic views,” said Rafael.

We think the bridge’s gorgeous design actually adds to the stunning view of Uruguay’s south coast.

Although we hope that the drivers slowing and admiring the view will also keep their eyes on the road…
