Margot Robbie’s Brother Avoided Her for Three Months After Wolf Of Wall Street Nude Scene

Margot Robbie shared that her brother didn’t speak to her for several weeks after watching The Wolf of Wall Street.

The film, released in 2013, features several explicit scenes, which understandably may have made it an awkward viewing experience for Robbie’s family.

During an appearance on the Screen Time podcast, Robbie mentioned that she watched the movie with her family.

While it’s likely they were impressed by her performance as Naomi Lapaglia, married to Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Jordan Belfort, the explicit content probably made certain moments quite uncomfortable.

Robbie recounted that one of her siblings was so shocked by the film that it took him three months to speak to her again.

“I can’t tell you how uncomfortable that was. One of my brothers didn’t speak to me for three months afterwards – not because he was mad, he was just, like: ‘I just need a minute before I can consider you my sister again!’” Robbie said.

Understandably, it seems it wasn’t an easy watch for her family.

Robbie has previously admitted she had reservations about the nude scenes, even though her manager advised, ‘if there’s ever going to be a time for nudity, this is the director you do it with’.

However, for the scene where Naomi seduces Jordan, she felt it was crucial to the character and chose to proceed with it.

In a 2014 interview with The Telegraph, Robbie revealed that director Martin Scorsese offered her the option to maintain her modesty, but she believed it wouldn’t be true to Naomi’s character.

“I think nudity for the sake of nudity is shameful. If they’ve put it in just so that a girl gets her top off, then that’s disgusting. And you can always tell,” she said.

“But I also think it’s disgusting when someone would have got naked in real life, in the film they conveniently leave their bra on, or hold up the bed sheet. Seeing someone being choreographed into being covered up irritates me just as much.”

She added, “The whole point of Naomi is that her body is her only form of currency in this world. So when Marty [Scorsese] was trying to help me out, and said in the scene where she seduces Jordan perhaps I could have a robe on, I said she wouldn’t. She has to be naked.”

“She’s laying her cards on the table,” Robbie concluded.
