Lonely Mom Knits Life-Size Replica Of Son After He Grows Out Of Cuddling Her

Finally there’s a solution for crafty moms who wish their sons could never grow out of their affectionate kid ways — simply knit yourself a new, squishy son.

Marieke Voorsluijs, a Netherlands-based textile designer, did just that.

Marieke’s teenage son hit puberty and was too busy hanging out with his friends to have cuddle time with his mom.

So she knitted heself an incredibly lifelike teenage boy who, because he’s made out of yarn, is always up for a cuddle.

Of course, Marieke’s project is a joke and she laughingly says she’s “not a smother mother at all”; she considers her project a “tribute to puberty and sons”.

The knitted doll is actually a wearable suit, so the cuddle factor still depends on her son wearing it.

The doll was part of a book, co-authored by Marieke, about realistic knitting for Club Geluk.
