This Insane 1,000 Foot-High Glass Slide Has Just Opened In Los Angeles

So this is the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles, the tallest building in the city and the biggest skyscraper west of the Mississippi.

For obvious reasons (although we can’t think of any right now), they decided to connect the 69th and 70th floors with a giant glass slide.

The 1.25 inch-thick glass gives sliders a glorious view of LA as they hurtle downwards trying not to have a heart attack.

Admittedly, the view from 1,000ft up is pretty nice.

And the glass is specially designed to withstand hurricane-force winds and earthquakes, if you ever decide to use it in those conditions.

Here’s the SkySlide from the outside.

Luckily, it ends in a soft landing at a new observation deck, so you can recover on solid (and not see-through) ground.

If you’re mad and fancy a ride, or can think of someone you don’t like very much and would like to book for them, tickets are $18 and you can find out more here.
