Viral Ellen tweet about Diddy resurfaces and ‘hasn’t aged well’

A tweet by Ellen DeGeneres from 2016 has resurfaced and gone viral.

In this tweet, DeGeneres mentions musician Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and wishes him a happy birthday.

She addresses him by his various monikers, writing: “Happy birthday, P Diddy, Puff Daddy, Sean Combs.”

However, it is the latter part of the tweet that has gained significant attention on Twitter lately.

After listing the rapper’s different names, DeGeneres adds: “or as I call him, Cuddle McSnugglestuff. You don’t need to know why.”

Despite being posted in 2016, the tweet has drawn renewed attention in light of Diddy’s recent legal troubles.

Diddy is currently in jail following his arrest related to an ongoing investigation into alleged sex trafficking and racketeering.

Many social media users have expressed discomfort with the tweet’s overly familiar tone.

A number of them have responded by noting how poorly the tweet has aged.

One individual replied: “This didn’t age well,” while another commented: “Man…this sure aged well!!”

A third user retweeted the post and asked the TV host for clarification, writing: “What did you mean by this Ellen?”

Combs was arrested at a New York hotel on September 16 and has been in federal custody ever since.

The rapper faces charges of federal sex trafficking and racketeering, with some allegations dating back to the 1990s.

The accusations include claims that he abused, threatened, and coerced women for years ‘to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct.’

Federal prosecutors have also accused him of ‘creating a criminal enterprise.’

As of September 25, 11 people have come forward with accusations against Combs.

The most recent of these is Thalia Graves, who claims that Combs and his bodyguard drugged, bound, and raped her in 2001, also filming the alleged assault.

A federal raid on Combs’ properties led to officers finding firearms and ammunition.

They also discovered more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil at his properties in Miami and Los Angeles during the March raids.

Combs has denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to the charges, telling reporters that he is a ‘fighter’ and ‘not afraid of the charges.’
