Top Ten Most Handsome Men Globally According to the ‘Golden Ratio’

Imagine being asked to list the ten most handsome men globally, and it’s likely that the name David Beckham, former soccer icon, would surface.

Names like Brad Pitt, Henry Cavill, Michael B. Jordan, Ryan Gosling, Idris Elba, Tom Brady, Zac Efron, Kim Tae-hyung, and Cristiano Ronaldo might also be top contenders.

However, it’s intriguing to note that only one of these captivating figures actually appears on the list.

Idris Elba, please step into the spotlight.

The versatile London-born actor, rapper, DJ, and singer was placed ninth on this prestigious list.

But what exactly is this ranking, and how can beauty be ‘scientifically’ measured?

Facial cosmetic surgeon Dr. Julian De Silva employed technology to map out where men fall on the ‘Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty’.

He explained: “These innovative computer mapping techniques help us unlock the secrets of physical beauty, and they are instrumental in planning surgical procedures for patients.”

So, what is the ‘golden ratio’ all about?

The Centre for Surgery describes it as a universal measure often applied in facial aesthetics, known as the ‘Phi Ratio’.

The ratio, 1.618 to 1, is considered a blueprint for what makes a face harmoniously proportioned.

Through Dr. De Silva’s research, he identified the ten most aesthetically pleasing men worldwide—at least from a scientific perspective. It’s hard to argue with the findings.

According to his results, Aaron Taylor-Johnson clinched the top spot. Although surprising at first, it aligns with his image as a strong contender for the next James Bond role.

Dr. De Silva noted: “Aaron emerged as the clear frontrunner when assessing all facial elements for physical perfection.

“What sets Aaron apart is the overall shape of his face, scoring an impressive 99.2%, just 0.8% shy of perfection. The dimensions of his nose are nearly flawless at 98.8%, along with his beautifully sculpted chin at 95%.

“His scores were consistently high, except for eye spacing at 89%, the gap between his nose and lip (89.6%), and his lips (86%).”

Who else was featured on the list?

Dr. De Silva mentioned: “Lucien Laviscount, adored for his role as Alfie in Netflix’s Emily In Paris, secured the second position with the highest score for the length and width of his face at 99.1%.

“Paul Mescal, soon to be seen in the lead role of Gladiator in the upcoming blockbuster, ranked third, earning the highest mark for his square chin with a score of 98.6%.”
