Little Boy’s Lost Tiger Hobbes Goes On A Big Airport Adventure

When six-year-old Owen Lake flew to Houston with his family, he left behind one very important family member: his tiny tiger Hobbes (of Calvin and Hobbes fame). Luckily, Hobbes was found safe and sound at Tampa airport, where he was later reunited with Owen.

As it turns out, Hobbes had quite an adventure with airport staff during Owen’s absence, and it was all documented in a photo book later presented to Owen. Take a look at some of the adorable photos of Hobbes’ big day at the airport below.

First stop, the air traffic control tower. Is that a storm in the distance?

It’s very hot in Tampa. Time to cool down with some ice-cold gelato.

Even a tiger has to earn his keep. Time to deliver some luggage to tired travelers at the airport hotel.

Hobbes gets a lesson in airport security while visiting the control room. This tiger has the situation under control.

Hobbes helps out with the airport firefighting team. Do you think they have a fireman’s suit in his size?

Hobbes checks out the runway with a member of the ground team. That’s one VERY big plane.

Back in the arms of his boy. Hobbes is reunited with Owen by airport police. Time for a nap!
