Rick Gruber, a pool man from Phoenix, Arizona, has found himself under the international spotlight. The reason? He rescued a squirrel from drowning, and then gave it CPR. Best of all, the squirrel lived, and Gruber got it all on tape!
First, he placed the little guy face down on a pipe.

Then, he gently started squeezing its sides in an attempt to find its lungs.

Mouth-to-mouth was out of the option, since he didn’t want to risk getting a disease.

Eventually, the squirrel opened its eyes and coughed up some water.

“I would do [CPR] for anybody. A rodent, a dog, a cat, anything,” Gruber told CNN.

Gruber set the squirrel out to dry as it surveyed its surroundings.

Here it is scurrying away. Hopefully it won’t be going for a swim anytime soon!
