Shocking footage has emerged of a baby dolphin being left for dead after tourists grabbed it from the water to take selfies, just a year after another dolphin was killed so tourists could take pictures.
The upsetting video shows people crowding around the dolphin, which it is said was pulled from the sea by the group, and taking photographs on their smartphones.
The animal was kept out of the water for a long time as the mob tried to take selfies and died a slow, painful death on San Bernado beach south of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
A witness named as Claudia described the incident, saying: “They could have returned him to the water — in fact, he was breathing. But everyone started taking photos and touching him. They said he was already dead.”
The incident is sadly similar to the fate of another young dolphin who swam too close to sunbathing tourists last year, also in Argentina, and was mauled to death by snap-happy tourists.
You can watch the full footage below. Hopefully, people will soon learn this is no way to treat innocent animals.
