President Donald Trump on Sunday admitted that he regrets endorsing Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, The Hill reported.
The president blamed Kemp and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger for approving the rules of the election.
“Everything has to be approved by the legislature, and they had judges making deals, and they had electoral officials making deals like this character in Georgia who’s a disaster.”
Trump added about Kemp, “And the governor’s done nothing. He’s done absolutely nothing. I’m ashamed that I endorsed him. But I look what’s going on. It’s so terrible.”
Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are facing Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, respectively. Both Perdue and Loeffler have called for the resignation of Raffensperger.
Georgia certified Biden as the winner of the state last week and Governor Kemp signed off on it.
