This Working Bank Is Made Entirely Out Of Gingerbread, Candy, And Frosting

So you might have draped some Christmas lights around your yard or put up a plastic Santa, maybe you’ve even got fake snow all around the windows. But it’s not a gingerbread bank, is it?

PNC Bank collaborated with a local bakery to construct a working bank entirely out of gingerbread for Christmas.

Along with bakers and pastry artists from Bredenbeck Bakery, the structure has taken months of planning (or taste testing).

But, amazingly, the bank, located in Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia, took just 4 days to build.

Inside the world’s tastiest bank, you’ll find a functioning ATM and customer service desk.

When it opened, the bank gave out free cookies and hot chocolate to visitors (probably to stop them eating the building).

Made from over 5000lb of real, edible gingerbread, the bank’s even weatherproofed to survive the winter.

It’s decorated with candy and intricate frosting decorations.

And pretty, non-edible (!) lights.

There are also custom-made decorations inspired by Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”.

We’ve never drooled over the idea of paying in checks before, so this really is a festive first.

It looks so magical! We hope they build it again next year.
