Ever Wondered What Colorblind People See? Now You Can Find Out

Approximately 1 in 12 males and 1 in 100 females are affected by some form of colorblindness. But just what colorblind people do and don’t see can be a bit of a mystery to those of us who can see the full spectrum of colors.

This awesome animation aims to change that, by showing the way colors might look to a colorblind person:

There are three main types of color blindness:

  • Protanopia makes it impossible to see the green-yellow-red color spectrum
  • The similar dueteranopia means that distinguishing greens, yellows, and reds can be difficult, but still possible
  • The much less common tritanopia means that the blue-yellow spectrum can’t be seen
