There’s something strange happening to the world’s best-known brands across the globe — the letters form their famous logos and signs are disappearing.
In fact, if you look closely, you’ll spot that the letters being lost are A, B, and O — the three major blood types.
The clever campaign is attracting international attention to an NHS blood drive, highlighting the desperate need for blood donations around the world.
Each participating company urges global citizens to “help fill in the gaps” and donate blood.
Blood donations have plummeted by about 30% in the last decade, and only around 3% of people from high-income countries donate blood, according to the World Health Organization.
In low-income countries, the number of blood donations is just .5%
So as well as the “a” from the Netherland’s famous I Amsterdam sculpture, individuals are encouraged to remove the letters A, B, and O from social media handles — and donate blood, of course.
