#1. Whiten those pillowcases.
Mix 1 cup of washing powder with a cup of crumbled dishwasher powder, whitener and half a cup of borax. Add very hot water, soak, and dry for pillows whiter than Beyonce’s teeth.
#2. Restore a shabby old table.
Mix half a cup of vinegar and half a cup of olive oil, dip a cloth in the mixture and wipe the wood down. Watch the scratches disappear!
#3. Clean the stove grate.
Ammonia will easily remove the greasy dirt from a stove grate, so pop the grate in a plastic bag and add two to three tablespoons of an ammonia cleaner. Leave overnight and rinse.
#4. Scrub a dub cupboard.
Mix 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil with 2 tablespoons of baking powder and use a toothbrush or cloth to clean your cupboards until they gleam.
#5. Say bye bye to bathroom mould.
Grab some cotton wool balls and dip them in whitener before leaving them on an area affected by mould overnight. The next morning remove the balls and scrub away any remaining nasties with a brush.
#6. Remove limescale from taps or shower heads.
Soaking the shower head for 20 minutes in vinegar will remove limescale or, alternatively, just use vinegar to scrub them.
#7. Shine up that silverware.
Cover a deep tray in aluminum foil and fill it with boiling water and a little salt and soak the cutlery for around 30 minutes. It’ll come out clean enough to eat your er, dinner, with.
#8. Microfabulous microfibre couches.
A clean white brush and a small amount of spirit mixed with baking powder are all you need to scrub away stains on microfibre couches.
#10. Who doesn’t love a clean iron?
Cover the ironing board with paper and sprinkle it with salt, then on maximum heat, quickly rub the iron over the salt.
#11. Remove stubborn stains from cast-iron pots and pans.
Grab oven cleaner and plain vinegar (pop bin liners down and wear rubber gloves) and scrub until they look brand new.
