‘10/10’ Netflix miniseries consumed for 34.8 million hours is a ‘captivating experience’

Netflix audiences have been captivated by a new miniseries that they’re calling a ’10/10′ must-watch.

The leading streaming platform frequently updates its content selection. While this means some beloved shows depart, it also paves the way for new favorites to emerge.

Whether you’re interested in a 91 percent-rated drama that’s being compared to Squid Game or a compelling series from the creator of Peaky Blinders, there are plenty of options to dive into.

If you’re seeking a gripping new series, consider this thrilling option.

This six-episode drama premiered on Netflix on September 26 and has quickly accumulated 34.8 million viewing hours. It’s a Spanish adaptation of a 2021 British thriller that originally starred Mobland’s Joanne Froggatt.

This version features Sky Rojo’s Verónica Sánchez, portraying a woman whose seemingly perfect life conceals a dark secret: her marriage to Gonzalo, played by Daniel Grao, is abusive.

The story takes a turn when her old classmate, Edu (Jaime Zatarain), re-enters her life, reigniting feelings she’d suppressed and offering a potential escape.

Edu’s return, however, brings to light hidden secrets about her, Gonzalo, and the mysterious vanishing of their daughter, Irati (Sua Díez).

The series in discussion here is Ángela.

On the Netflix Bangers Facebook group, one viewer who had seen the initial five episodes rated the show ’10/10,’ recommending it highly.

Others echoed this sentiment, with one person saying, “Excellent series, enjoyed watching this show.”

“Yes! 10/10,” another user on social media commented, while someone else added, “Just saw this, it was good, I loved the twist!”

The enthusiasm extended to IMDB, where Ángela holds a score of 6.5.

One viewer mentioned, “Visually, the series is well-crafted, with moody cinematography that enhances the atmosphere of uncertainty and tension.”

“Combined with a sharp script and tight pacing, Ángela becomes a truly absorbing watch,” they added.

Another described it as ‘suspenseful and emotionally gripping,’ while a third viewer praised it as ‘a hell of a ride.’

“These six episodes are fast-paced and tense. I was never bored, and the story kept me guessing what will happen next,” they added.

Although the series hasn’t received enough reviews for a Rotten Tomatoes score, critics have generally responded positively.

Joel Keller from Decider noted that the show is ‘an overly dramatic thriller that tries to build tension where there is none.’

However, he acknowledged its strengths in ‘a straightforward story and good acting.’

Meanwhile, Karina Adelgaard from Heaven of Horror highlighted that its storyline, particularly on abuse, can be ‘very uncomfortable and scary at times.’

Ángela is now available for streaming on Netflix.
