However, these laws can vary across different states. For example, Kentucky imposes no restrictions, but other states have rules for practical reasons.

In most states, baby names that include numerals, emojis, or symbols are not allowed, as such choices are considered impractical.

Additionally, some states have specific character limits for first, middle, and last names, though these limits are not consistent nationwide.

The Makeshift Project podcast recently discussed the list of names in a YouTube video, prompting many viewers to comment on the topic.

Some individuals suggested that the list is not strictly adhered to.

“As a teacher I can confidently say NO one is enforcing this lol,” commented one person, while another noted, “As a paediatric nurse, I can’t tell you how many King, Queen and Messiahs I’ve taken care of.”

A third person added: “Lies! I work with 2 children who have these names, King and Messiah. We live in the USA.”

Moreover, America’s ‘rarest’ baby names have been identified, and some of them might be unexpected.

A study by childcare agency Go Au Pair found certain baby names are so uncommon that only about five children in a state share the same name.
