17 Signs You’re The Responsible One In Your Friend Group

If you worry about how little vegetables your friends are eating or you feel the occasional urge to clean their homes for them, you might be the responsible one in your friend group. Don’t fret, there’s no shame in being the mother hen. Here are some signs that you’re the responsible one in your friend group.

#1. You care about your friends’ health.

You encourage them to eat healthier, and to do more activities. Actually, ‘encourage’ might be a loose term for ‘force’ in this case.

#2. You remind them about appointments, and errands.

You’re basically better than a calendar.

#3. You check on the weather situation for the day before going out.

And you prepare yourself by bringing a jacket, an umbrella, and a life raft. Okay, maybe not a life raft.

#4. You’re a total girl scout.

Your bag is a holy grail. First aid kit, maybe a hair tie, and most importantly, SNACKS.

#5. You care about what parents think of you.

You remind your friends how important their parents are. You’ve also grown to appreciate them say things like: “We’re so glad she/he has a friend like you!” To you, it’s the ultimate approval.

#6. You can manage to keep plants alive.

You have a garden or you’ve at least thought about starting one. For now, you’re comfortable with a few potted plants.

#7. You give the most mature and encouraging advice.

You’re basically the mom of the group. But don’t worry, you’re not like a regular mom, you’re a cool mom.

#8. You always have hand sanitiser with you.

Because, GERMS NO DON’T TOUCH THAT YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE IT’S BEEN!

#9. You feel obligated to clean up after everyone.

Not that you mind because you hate seeing clutter, anyway.

#10. You always know what routes to take.

Because getting lost and hopelessly wandering around foreign streets is totally not your thing.

#11. You cook or bake for your friends when they come over.

Because it’s the polite thing to do. Like we said, you’re not a regular mom, you’re a cool mom.

#12. Your clothes are always pressed.

Because creases are for delinquents!

#13. You always remember birthdays.

And you usually plan something special.

#14. You’re the one who takes care of everyone on a night out.

Let’s not get too graphic on this. You know how it goes.

#15. You love going home early.

When you say you’re leaving  at 9, you’re leaving at 9.

#16. You give the best pep talks.

You’re the group’s own cheerleader. Yeah!

#17. You’re honest even when your friends don’t want to hear it.

You’ve given too many lectures on why your friend should not text that guy from Saturday night. That’s why you’re the best person to talk to when your friends need a serious reality check.

If you could relate to most of these, you’re officially your group’s mother hen. Your shoulders have adjusted to being the perfect softness for your friends to lean on. Without you, your friends wouldn’t be the same.
