92% Rated Netflix Drama Featuring Original Wednesday Addams Binged for 118 Million Hours Before New Season

A Netflix series, highly acclaimed with a 92% rating, features the original Wednesday Addams and is being praised as one of the most thrilling seasons of television of this century.

Jenna Ortega has returned for the second season of Wednesday on August 6. After enjoying this, viewers are encouraged to check out another Netflix series, described as an ‘absolute must-watch.’

The show prominently features Christina Ricci, who famously portrayed Wednesday in the 1991 film “The Addams Family” and its sequel, “Addams Family Values” in 1993.

Among the cast are renowned actors such as Melanie Lynskey from “The Last of Us,” Juliette Lewis of “Cape Fear,” and Tawny Cypress from “Heroes.”

Recently, the first two seasons were made available on Netflix in the United States, where they have amassed an impressive 118 million viewing hours according to Flix Patrol. UK viewers can also access the series with ease.

The gripping drama draws inspiration from the real-life 1972 crash of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, which is also the basis for Netflix’s “Society of the Snow.”

The storyline is depicted through dual timelines, focusing on a New Jersey high school girls’ soccer team whose plane crashes over Canada while on their way to a championship.

Set in 1996, the first timeline explores the survivors’ struggle to survive in the wilderness for 19 months under dire conditions, hoping for rescue.

In the present-day timeline set in 2021, the now middle-aged survivors are confronted by the past, facing threats from an anonymous blackmailer intent on revealing their secrets.

The series debuted on Showtime in November 2021, with its second season following in March 2023.

Due to a licensing deal with Paramount, both seasons are now accessible on Netflix; the first was added last year, with the second joining in July.

Viewers can also enjoy a third season on Paramount+, and the series has been approved for a fourth season, set for a late 2026 or early 2027 release.

In the US, viewers can add Paramount+ for $5.99 a month via Amazon Prime Video. UK viewers have the option of a seven-day free Paramount+ trial through Prime, providing a chance to watch the series at no extra cost.

The series is titled “Yellowjackets” and its debut season achieved a flawless 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics.

The critics’ consensus praised it as a “genre mashup that blends smoothly,” and described it as “an absorbing mystery with plenty of sting.”

Across the three seasons, the series maintains an impressive 92% score.

A viewer commented, “S1 of Yellowjackets was a revelation, and undeniably one of the best-written and most thrilling seasons of television this century. Fresh faces, engaging personalities, and one of the most wonderfully-scary scripts I’ve seen as an adult.”

Another social media user described it as an ‘absolute must-watch,’ remarking: “I haven’t been this engaged in a TV show in a long time!”

A third shared a similar view, noting: “The first time in a while where I finished a whole season to the end…” while another simply stated: “A must watch is a understatement.”

The first two seasons of “Yellowjackets” are currently streaming on Netflix, with the third season available on Paramount+.
