95% Rated Netflix Show Watched for 70 Million Hours Before ‘Outrageous’ Season 2 Launch

Netflix audiences eagerly awaited more content after spending 70 million hours immersed in a “sweet and sharp” Kristen Bell series.

Their anticipation was rewarded on Thursday (October 23) with the release of 10 new episodes of the captivating series.

This followed Kristen Bell’s recent high-profile wedding anniversary post with husband Dax Shepard, which drew significant attention.

On Friday (October 17), she made a controversial joke about Shepard resisting the urge to murder her, causing quite a stir.

This week, Bell was notably absent from a planned appearance on the TODAY show to discuss the continuation of her series.

Her co-star, Justine Lupe, conducted the interview alone, while Bell’s absence remained unaddressed.

Despite the controversy, the latest episodes have received praise from critics.

Set in Los Angeles, the series follows Joanne (Bell), an agnostic podcaster who unexpectedly falls in love with rabbi Noah (Adam Brody), as they navigate their vastly different lives and family dynamics.

Joanne’s sister Morgan (Lupe) and Noah’s brother Sasha (Timothy Simons) add their own humor and drama to the mix.

Since its debut last September, the first season has been viewed for over 70.4 million hours, according to FlixPatrol.

The series, Nobody Wants This, received a remarkable 95 percent score from Rotten Tomatoes critics for its first season.

Critics praised the show as a “welcome binge,” complimenting Bell and Brody’s “irresistible chemistry” and its “thoughtful consideration” of interfaith romance.

NPR’s David Bianculli suggested that Nobody Wants This could quickly become the new rom-com standard, noting, “It’s sweet, but it’s sharp. It has laughs but also has bite.”

Fans were equally enamored with the rom-com, eagerly anticipating more.

One viewer praised its “unique and funny characters” and “perfectly balanced comedic tone,” declaring it a “binge-watch that deserves several more seasons with these fantastic protagonists.”

A social media user called it “one of the best written series” they’ve encountered in a long time, expressing excitement for season two.

So far, the second season of Nobody Wants This has earned a solid 90 percent rating from 10 critic reviews.

Chris Joyce from Movies and Munchies highlighted the show’s “insightful writing,” which crafts “amusing characters” that are “endearing and outrageous enough to be entertaining.”

Collider’s Isabella Soares praised the new season for adding a “whole new layer of realism” as Joanne and Noah transition from the honeymoon phase to everyday life.

Both seasons of Nobody Wants This are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
