This Girl Had The Best Response When Shop Assistants Laughed At Her Clothes

A woman’s amazing response to being laughed at by shop assstants in a drugstore is going viral for it’s amazingly positive message, with 50,000 shares in a matter of days.

Blogger Harriet Rae was in UK drugstore Superdrug when she overheard two girls working there sniggering at her appearance. It was July, so Harriet was pretty confused as to what was so funny about her denim shorts and t-shirt.

But instead of getting mad, Harriet decided to show just how far a little kindness can go. She took to Facebook to explain the incident.

“Don’t worry, I heard the comments you made to each other about my appearance and my shorts,” she wrote, “You spoke loud enough for most people to hear.”

“It’s obviously not the first time you’ve had a giggle and made comments about another girl, but when you do it normally, the person you talk about probably looks away and you actually make them feel really sad.”

To the two girls working in Truro Superdrug this afternoon.
Don’t worry, I heard the comments you made to each other…

“But today, by the looks on your faces you really weren’t prepared for the massive cheesy smile I gave you!”

“Just so you know, your words didn’t hurt me. I do feel slightly saddened that you think it’s ok to speak about another female, or in fact anyone, that way.”

“If somehow you end up reading this, can you be a little bit kinder with your words? Some peoples’ skin isn’t as thick as mine has become and the next person’s might be very thin indeed.”

But Harriet didn’t stop there.

“In response to your comments, I send back some love! If you did your own hair and make up for work today, you are both very talented. I could never get my winged liner or my ponytail that perfect!”

Harriet added that she’s since received an apology from the store, but refused to name or describe the two rude girls, saying, “the post was to spread kindness and positivity, not embarrassment or hurt.”

Now that’s the way to respond to bullies: putting a little more love in the world.
