This Woman Adopted A Pit Bull And He’s So Grateful He Won’t Stop Cuddling Her

A pit bull who was finally saved from a shelter is so grateful to his new human he just can’t stop hugging her.

When Kayla Filoon, a student who volunteers as a dog walker at an animal shelter in Philadelphia, US, saw Russ the pit bull for the first time, they had an instant bond.

“He came in as a stray and he was really beat up,” she said, “He was missing fur on his tail and ears. He was also terribly skinny. He was just sitting there calmly and I thought, I need to take him now.”

And Russ is so happy to have a new home, he never leaves Kayla’s side.

“Any dog had a chance of being put down, especially the ones who were sicker, and Russ was definitely one of them,” remembers Kayla.

The shelter had already put 15 dogs to sleep, and Russ seems to know the fate he’s escaped. And he’s showing his thanks with lots and lots of cuddles.

“One night I’m sitting there on the chair, doing my homework, and he’s trying to find ways to cuddle me,” says Kayla.

Kayla’s friend snapped a photo of the loveable pup and it quickly went viral.

Kayla hopes that the photo will inspire others to adopt shelter dogs by showing just how much love these abandoned pooches have to give.

“He’s such a love bug, honestly!”

We’re so glad Russ found his forever home.
