Mickey Rooney Jr., the oldest of Hollywood legend Mickey Rooney’s nine children and a founding member of the Mouseketeers, has passed away. He was 77.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Rooney Jr. passed away on Saturday at his Glendale, Arizona, residence. His cause of death are still under investigation.
Rooney Jr. made notable cinematic appearances, including those in the 1980s film Honeysuckle and the 1967 television series Shindig!
The performer battled addiction problems, but he eventually overcame them and committed to Christianity. He subsequently started a ministry in Hemet, California, before relocating to Arizona.
In April 2014, at the age of 93, his well-known father passed away. Chrissie Brown, Rooney Jr.’s longtime partner, survives him.
