‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ Rapper Coolio Dead at 59

Rapper Coolio has passed away at the age of 59.

The rapper was at a friend’s house in Los Angeles when he excused himself to use the restroom, according to Coolio’s longtime manager, Jarez.

The friend apparently called out to him but received no reaction after he didn’t respond after a decent length of time had passed.

The companion entered the restroom out of concern and saw Coolio, whose true name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., lying on the floor. The paramedics were immediately called.

Coolio was declared dead at the spot after what was possibly a heart attack. The precise cause of death hasn’t yet been determined, though.

The rapper, whose career began in the 1980s, shot to popularity in 1995 with the publication of “Gangsta’s Paradise,” which was included in the film “Dangerous Minds” and earned him the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance in 1996.

Four days after posting a video of his most recent performance in Texas on Instagram, where many of his fans sent condolences, he passed away.

One devoted follower commented, “Crazy he just posted a week ago, and has passed,” while several more responded, “Rest in peace.”

On his most recent Instagram picture, a second person said, “Rest in paradise.”

His six children as well as his ex-wife Josefa Salina, whom he wed in 1996, live on. Four years later, the former couple decided to end their relationship.
