Jeremy Renner Thanks Fans After Being Run Over by Snow Plough

Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in Marvel’s Avengers films, was airlifted to hospital on Sunday following a serious accident involving his snow plough outside his home in Reno, Nevada.

The actor shared a picture of his bruised face on Instagram, thanking fans for their support, and noting he was “too messed up now to type”.

According to the local sheriff, the snow plough which struck Renner weighed at least 14,330lb (6.5 tonnes), three times as heavy as a car.

On Monday, actor Jeremy Renner’s publicist revealed that he had sustained blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries. At that time, Renner was in a stable but critical condition in intensive care.

On Tuesday evening, Renner took to Instagram to thank his fans for their support, writing, “I send love to you all.”

At a press conference, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam explained that the incident occurred when a family member driving Renner’s car got stuck in the snow near his house.

Renner had used his snow plough to tow the car free, but while he was talking to the relative, the snow plough began to move while empty.

Sheriff Balaam has detailed the tragic incident that killed local resident, Renner, on Wednesday.

According to the sheriff, Renner was trying to get back into the driver’s seat of an “extremely large” piece of equipment, PistenBully, which weighs at least 14,330lb – over three times the average weight of a car.

An eyewitness reported not seeing Renner again until the PistenBully came to a rest in a pile of snow in front of his driveway. Balaam described Renner as a “great neighbour” who was generous in helping to clear local roads and made a “tremendous impact” on the community.

Following Jeremy Renner’s health update, many Hollywood figures, including some of his former Marvel co-stars, have sent their well wishes.

Chris Evans, who starred alongside Renner in Captain America, commented on Renner’s Instagram post, “Tough as nails. Love you buddy.”

Chris Pratt, from Guardians of the Galaxy, expressed his “continued prayers”, while Paul Bettany from WandaVision declared, “Love you mate. Sending you love and healing.”
