Tristan Thompson’s Mom Andrea Thompson, Dead

NBA player Tristan Thompson, 31, is mourning the loss of his mother, Andrea Thompson, a source confirmed to ET. Tristan’s rep has not yet responded to media requests for comment.

“Khloe and Tristan traveled to Toronto because Tristan’s mother passed away,” the source says of Khloe Kardashian, Tristan’s ex. The former couple shares two kids, True, 4, and a son. Tristan is also dad to Prince, 6, and Theo, 1.

Khloe Kardashian is being supported by her family, including mom Kris Jenner and sister Kim Kardashian, for the private funeral of Tristan Thompson’s mother, Andrea, who died suddenly from a heart attack.

Tristan, born in 1991, was very close to his mother, who he talked to every day, and his three younger brothers Dishawn, Daniel and Amari. The family will be there to support Tristan in this difficult time.

“Everyone knows that my mom, she’s very dedicated in taking care of her sons — especially Amari,” Tristan said of his youngest brother, who suffers from epilepsy. “But at the same time, you need to make sure that she’s OK. It’s asking a lot for one parent to do, so I always try to make sure that she’s doing well, too. Whether she’s getting a massage or just get out of the house and have a babysitter watch for a couple hours, that’s crucial.”

Khloe Kardashian is providing support to Tristan Thompson as he attends his mother Andrea’s funeral. According to an insider, Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian are accompanying Khloe to the service. Andrea was the proud mother of Tristan, who was drafted fourth overall in the 2011 NBA draft.

In a reflective article she wrote for the Toronto Star at the time, Andrea expressed how proud she was of her son, and the hard work she and her husband, Trevor, had done to make it happen.

She also said that she never had it easy as a child, but her advice to Tristan was “Keep going. Don’t look back. Keep fighting.”
