Victoria Lee, 18, a rising star in mixed martial arts (MMA), has tragically passed away, her sister confirmed. Lee was widely regarded as one of the most promising young MMA fighters in the world.
“She has gone too soon and our family has been completely devastated since then,” her sister Angela said in an Instagram post Saturday.
“We miss her. More than anything in this world. Our family will never be the same. Life will never be the same.”
Lee, who was born and reared in Hawaii, had begun to rise through the ranks of the sport.
She won three fights in her brief career, most recently against Victoria Souza in September 2021.
She put fighting on hold last year to focus on graduating from high school.
Angela stated on Instagram that her sister died on December 26 but did not elaborate.
“We miss you so much sis. More than you could ever realize. We’re all broken,” Angela added.
“Because a piece of you was in each of us and when you left, those pieces were ripped out of us. We will never be the same.”
Lee is from a sporting family; her sister and brother, Christian, are both ONE world champions.
‘The Prodigy,’ as she was dubbed, had previously said that her brothers were her main influences.
