He set up a rule for his students: If they draw something, he will too. On top of their drawing. And then add it to Tumblr.
“I had to be pretty strict to begin with them at first, otherwise the classroom became chaotic. They didn’t like me for that.”
“This was a way for me to engage with the students in a playful way without it being disruptive to the actual lesson.”
“At the very least, it helped me get through the boring-ass grading process.”
While we’re not sure how effective this rule was at getting his students to be more productive, we certainly think he did earn some major street cred.
