Authorities have provided an update on the distressing case involving Nick Pasqual, known from “How I Met Your Mother,” following allegations of a violent attack on his girlfriend before attempting to escape the country.
Early in the morning on May 23, around 4:30 am, Allie Shehorn, a makeup artist, was brutally assaulted in her residence in Los Angeles. She sustained multiple stab wounds and was subsequently rushed to the hospital in critical condition. An arrest warrant was issued for Pasqual, who was suspected of the attack.
Pasqual and Shehorn had been in a relationship previously, and Shehorn had recently obtained a restraining order against Pasqual due to alleged domestic abuse, just days before the attack. It remains unclear if Pasqual had been served with the restraining order before the incident.
Concerns grew when Shehorn did not arrive at work on May 23, leading to the discovery by her roommate who claimed Shehorn had been stabbed “more than 20 times.” She was immediately taken to the hospital, and authorities set the arrest warrant for Pasqual at $1.075 million, as reported by Variety.
By then, however, reports from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office indicated that Pasqual, who has also appeared in “Rebel Moon” and “Jobs,” had “allegedly fled.”
Pasqual was later apprehended at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. He faces charges including “one count of attempted murder; one count of first-degree residential burglary with person present; and one count of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or child’s parent.”
Following emergency surgery, Shehorn remained in the Intensive Care Unit for several days. Friends of Shehorn have initiated a GoFund Deferred Me campaign to assist with her recovery.
The GoFund Me page highlights: “Allie is now in the hospital fighting for her life, in critical condition. Allie is a remarkable person, full of warmth, kindness, and love. No one deserves to endure such a traumatic experience, especially someone as compassionate and caring as Allie. The road to recovery will be long and arduous, but with your support, we can help ease her burden and provide the financial assistance she desperately needs.”
Updates suggest Shehorn is “feeling better” and “doing her best to stay positive,” although she faces “complications.”
Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón expressed his deep concern, stating, “My thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the victim in this horrific incident. Our office, including our Bureau of Victim Services, extends our support and resources to her as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from both the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon her… We will ensure that the individual responsible for this egregious act is held accountable for their actions.”
The investigation continues under the Los Angeles Police Department, and “an arraignment date has not yet been scheduled.”
