Emma Roberts says she’ll never date an actor again after Evan Peters relationship

Emma Roberts, the daughter of Oscar-winning actor Eric Roberts and niece of Hollywood icon Julia Roberts, has declared she will never date another actor, explaining that it presents unique challenges.

At 33, Emma has experienced high-profile relationships within the industry, notably with Evan Peters, whom she met on the set of “Adult World.” The couple had an intermittent relationship that lasted from 2012 to 2019 and even led to an engagement. Following her split from Peters, Emma dated actor-musician Garrett Hedlund, with whom she welcomed her son, Rhodes Robert Hedlund, before parting ways in 2022.

The actress shared her insights with Flaunt magazine, stating, “One day the veil was lifted and I didn’t want to date actors anymore. It’s hard, I think, for two actors to be together. I’m trying to think if I’ve seen it done successfully.” Emma added, “Also, the actors I’ve been with border on method actors, and that is something that I think is extremely difficult to be in a relationship with – at least for me, especially the characters that they were playing.” Emma Roberts has vowed to never date an actor again.

Her past experience with Peters, who portrayed numerous unsettling characters in “American Horror Story” and later Jeffrey Dahmer in Netflix’s “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” underscored her concerns about dating actors, especially those who deeply immerse themselves in challenging roles. Today, Emma is involved with a non-actor who remains unnamed, and she resides with her mother outside New York City. While she remains private about her current relationship, she disclosed to Flaunt that her partner is not an actor and prefers to stay off social media. This shift reflects her evolving relationship with the platform and public scrutiny.

Emma expressed that fame has changed with the advent of technology, noting that she was previously recognized only in certain settings like malls. She discussed her approach to social media, saying, “I feel like, in a way I got to hang on to some innocence longer [than usual]. I know everyone has a different take on how [modern] celebrities or people should be online and how serious they should be. My social media is for fun, it’s for reading, it’s for fashion, but if you want to get really deep with me or know what I think about things, you’re not going to see it posted on my social media.”
