Missing 17-year-old spotted on random Twitch stream seven weeks after his disappearance

In a surprising turn of events, a Twitch streamer has become pivotal in the case of a missing teenager after a man came forward claiming to have recognized his missing brother during a livestream. Seventeen-year-old Troy Coleman was last seen on May 17, 2024, in Mt Morris Township, Michigan and had vanished without a trace until potentially being spotted on a popular Twitch channel.

The streamer, known as FaZe Lacy, revealed on his X profile that someone emailed him believing they saw Troy in his recent livestream. FaZe Lacy shared a concerning still image from his stream showing a young man, shirtless and wearing bright green shorts, engaging with the streamers on a sidewalk. ” Troy Coleman missing poster (Missing and exploited children)”

FaZE Lacy expressed his astonishment and hope on X on July 3, stating, “Three months ago a 17-year-old kid went missing and was put on homicide. Yesterday on stream he came up to me and Clix and now his family knows he is alive and in Miami. I wasn’t sure if I should make this public but I’m hoping somehow this helps him be found for his family.”

But what makes him believe the boy in the video could be Troy? The streamer shared a screenshot of the email received from Troy’s alleged brother, Trent Coleman. It read, “Hello my name is Trent Coleman and my missing little brother from Michigan was on Clix and Lacy’s stream in Miami, he was wearing green shorts and they were making fun of him, he is not on drugs, he is schizophrenic and he is 17 years old. If someone can contact me about this I would be so thankful he has been missing for three months and his case was put on homicide in Michigan.”

Addressing a social media user’s question about the situation, Lacy explained, “I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure it means they thought he was dead but now his family knows he’s alive. Power of the internet is wild.”

With Troy described as approximately 6’4” tall, weighing between 165 to 180 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair, his family and authorities have been desperate for any leads. In response to his disappearance, the family had previously made public appeals to aid in locating him.

Authorities continue their search and urge anyone with information to reach out to the Flint Township Police Department at 810-600-3250.
