Man dine and dashes on his Hinge date after she brings a friend and starts ordering drinks

When a first date at a hibachi restaurant takes a surprising turn, this man’s story of a dine-and-dash revenge goes viral!

Imagine planning a casual lunch with someone you met on Hinge, only to find they’ve turned it into a free meal scheme. That’s exactly what happened to a TikToker known as Johnny America, who quickly caught onto his date’s sly plan.

Things took an unexpected twist right from the start when Johnny’s date showed up with a friend in tow. Instead of the expected one-on-one meeting, he found himself at a table with an uninvited guest who immediately started ordering extravagant dishes like surf and turf and multiple drinks.

Johnny initially agreed to the setup reluctantly. “She’s already here. What was I going to tell her, ‘go away?'” he recalled in his viral video.

He soon realized that his generosity was being taken advantage of. While he opted for a simple chicken and rice, the women went all out, assuming he’d foot the bill for their lavish choices.

Johnny shared his thoughts in the video: “These girls think I’m stupid. I’m not.” Realizing the setup, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

When it came time to pay, the women requested a single bill, presumably for him to cover. Seizing the moment, Johnny excused himself to “go to the restroom,” only to head straight for his car and leave the restaurant, leaving the duo with the bill.

“Guess where I went? I didn’t go to the restroom. I went in my car and I went home. You think I’m stupid? I’m not. You paid my bill. Thanks,” he recounted triumphantly in the clip.

The man said he knew what they were doing

The story didn’t end there. Johnny returned to the restaurant the next day to ensure the bill had been settled. He learned from the chef that the women had waited around until another unsuspecting man paid their tab. Johnny remarked, “These two suckers called another idiot to pay their bill, and this idiot actually did.”

Out of gratitude to the chef, Johnny left a $20 tip for the trouble and finally made his exit, having learned a valuable lesson about the perils of modern dating.

What a wild ride from a seemingly innocent lunch date! Johnny’s experience serves as a cautionary tale about the unexpected twists that can occur when meeting someone new.
