Man creates the ‘world’s darkest room’ by painting it with ‘the blackest black paint’

Ever imagined what it feels like to be surrounded by absolute darkness? One daring YouTuber turned this curious thought into a reality by painting a room with the world’s blackest paint, and trust us, it’s as eerie as it sounds!

This isn’t just any ordinary room makeover. This guy has officially taken the crown for having the most sinister room on the planet.

The man behind this fascinating experiment is James Orgill, the mind behind The Action Lab YouTube channel. In 2021, he captured the eyes of millions with a video that plunged viewers into a visual abyss.

His viral video showcases the dramatic transformation using “The World’s Blackest Paint.” So, what exactly is this enigmatic paint? It’s called Musou Black.

Musou Black isn’t your average black paint. According to the creators, while standard black acrylics absorb about 94-98% of light, Musou Black goes above and beyond, absorbing up to 99.4% of visible light.

The company boasts, “This water-based acrylic paint can easily be applied with an air-brush or a paint-brush. Achieving an overwhelming blackness has never been easier!”

Instead of sacrificing an existing room, Orgill constructed an entirely new room just to showcase this pitch-black paint.

Many might think there’s no noticeable difference between shades of black, but they’d be quite mistaken.
Social media users insisted it looked like green screen.(The Action Lab/YouTube)

On social media, viewers were astonished by the effect, with many suggesting it looked as though Orgill was using green screen technology.

Imagine transforming your bedroom with this paint, complete with twinkling fairy lights leading the way. One fan on YouTube dreamed, “Never again would the sun wake you up by making your room too bright.”

Another commented, “Looks like film green screen effects. A black slate you’re animated in front of. That’s incredible.”

While one optimistic user envisioned, “I’d love a small room like this to just go in and chill, be really calming.”

Another suggested a more ominous use: “This would be the scariest interrogation room, just imagine that room with an old wooden desk with handcuffs built in and one of those old hanging lights you can use to blind the person you’re interrogating,” adding a touch of cinematic drama.

Curious to own this ultra-dark paint? It comes with a hefty price tag. A one litre bottle of Musou Black costs about €235,00 EUR ($256.63).

But hey, if you’re looking to impress (or unnerve) your friends with the darkest room they’ve ever seen, it might just be worth the splurge. Because, why not?
