Actor Drea de Matteo has shared her perspective on an assassination attempt targeting Donald Trump and the phenomenon she refers to as ‘Trump derangement syndrome’.
On July 13, during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, shots were fired in what has been considered an assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Despite video evidence and the FBI’s statements, some people have doubted the events as presented.
Footage shows Trump’s hand moving to his right ear as bullets zoomed past, later appearing with a bloodied ear. Trump took to social media to discuss the incident and his injuries.
The FBI identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, and the U.S. Secret Service confirmed a shooting incident occurred. Some attendees were injured, and 50-year-old Corey Comperatore was reportedly killed.
However, skepticism persists about the incident’s authenticity. HBO’s Insecure actor Amanda Seales called it ‘more staged than a Tyler Perry production of Madea Runs for President,’ with conspiracy theorists pointing to a woman in the footage who seemed unusually calm.
Emmy-award-winning actor Drea de Matteo, known for her role in The Sopranos, has now voiced her own views.
The actor, who now creates content on OnlyFans, told The Mail Online she believes the assassination attempt was ‘clearly an inside job.’
She stated: “I think this attempt was clearly an inside job. All these kids that are saying ‘I can’t believe he missed’. A lot of people don’t have a clue what’s really happening and that’s why there’s Trump derangement syndrome.”
“It’s the level of propaganda and the twisting of information… there’s no truth out there anymore. And if you want it, you must carry on you have to pick up every rock in sight.”
Despite her theories, she advised against blindly following celebrities and urged people to make their own decisions.
Commenting on Tenacious D musician Kyle Gass’ remark about not ‘missing Trump next time,’ de Matteo emphasized the importance of being informed before condemning anyone.
“And maybe lower your f**king voice when you’re condoning murder,” she added.
While clarifying she’s not trying to be self-righteous, de Matteo stressed the need for people to educate themselves fully and then form their own opinions.
She concluded: “Everybody is so tied into hearing what other celebrities have to say, because somehow, they’re a trusted voice.”
“And I don’t know why because they’re just f**king actors. A lot of them are super f**king entitled Hollywood folks that don’t really do their homework. And that upsets me.”
On a more positive note, de Matteo added: “I mean, they the left, and I am on the left, but I am embarrassed.”
“I’m also embarrassed of my country. And I’ll wear an American flag all day because I am a real f*****g patriot. But I am so embarrassed by the blood on the hands of this country at this point and the karmic overload of just dishonesty and greed.”
“It’s gone so far, but I really do believe in the people… I believe that we can make America great again.”
