A notorious hitman was infamous for his brutal nature, even attempting to kill his own brother.
Nate ‘Boone’ Craft claims to have taken the lives of at least 30 individuals throughout his criminal career, although the actual number might be higher.
Raised in Detroit, Craft alleges that his first murder occurred when he was merely 10 years old.
He ended up incarcerated and spent some time in a juvenile detention center before being released in the 1980s.
Craft’s stint in jail didn’t dissuade him from his criminal ways; he soon resumed his activities and secured a position as a hitman for the Best Friends gang, founded by brothers Rockin’ Reg, Boogaloo, Ghost, and Wizard Brown.
At his peak, Craft earned up to $50,000 per hit, a significant departure from his upbringing where his hardworking parents still faced financial hardship.
However, there was one hit he pursued without a contract—the attempted murder of his own brother, Willie.
Reflecting on the incident, Craft told Say Cheese TV: “I made so much money that my brother tried to rob me once and I had to tell him, ‘Man, you’re my big brother, true enough. Don’t make me put you in the ground.'”
Craft alleged that his brother was the only one who could have stolen the $6,000 he had hidden in a sock inside their TV set.
Willie, who was a frequent drug user, denied any involvement.
“My brother Willie was sitting up in the bathroom shooting up,” Craft recalled. “So I go back out to my car and get my shotgun.”
Craft justified his actions by declaring Willie a ‘brother no more’ after the theft.
Determined to shoot his brother, their mother stepped in just in time.
“I pulled the trigger but my mama pushed the gun up and blew a hole in the roof,” the former hitman remembered.
After a heated exchange with his mother, Craft eventually promised her that he wouldn’t kill his brother as long as she was alive.
Whether the siblings ever mended their relationship remains unknown.
Eventually, police closed in on the gang Craft worked for, leading him to cooperate with authorities in exchange for a reduced sentence.
He served 17 years in prison and emerged a changed man.
Craft has since renounced his past life of crime and is now thought to be a father.
