Simone Biles addresses the one question reporters should ‘stop asking’ her

Simone Biles is urging reporters to refrain from posing a specific query to Olympic gold medalists.

During this year’s Olympic Games, Biles earned an impressive three gold medals, the latest being for Women’s Vault on August 3.

She also secured golds in Women’s Artistic Individual All-Round and Women’s Artistic Team All-Round with her fellow Team USA gymnasts.

Biles’ cumulative count now stands at ten Olympic medals throughout her career, with seven of them being gold.

Post-medal wins, athletes like Biles often face a barrage of questions from the press, and there’s one particular question she wants them to avoid.

Taking to X on August 4, the 27-year-old tweeted: “You guys really gotta stop asking athletes what’s next after they win a medal at the Olympics.”

“Let us soak up the moment we’ve worked our whole lives for,” she emphasized in a subsequent post.

Support has poured in for Biles, with many praising her stance.

One individual commented to the Olympian: “Absolutely agree! Athletes have just achieved something incredible and need time to enjoy and reflect on their success before thinking about what’s next.”

“Exactly: stay in and with the moment as long as possible,” another supporter echoed.

In a lighthearted exchange, someone jokingly asked Biles the dreaded question about her next steps post-gold, to which she humorously replied: “Babysitting the medal.”

“10/10 response,” remarked another observer.

Biles has also recently received commendation for addressing criticisms about her hair.

Despite her triple gold medal victory for her nation, some online trolls criticized her hair, calling it ‘sloppy.’

Biles responded on Instagram, saying: “Don’t come for me about my hair. IT WAS DONE but bus has no AC and it’s like 9,000 degrees. Oh and a 45-minute ride.”

She further added: “Next time you wanna comment on a Black girl’s hair. JUST DON’T.”

Amid her Olympic achievements, Biles has already been queried about future competitions.

“You know, never say never,” she responded. “The next Olympics is at home so you never know.”

With a touch of humor, she added: “But I am getting really old.”

The next Olympics will be held in Los Angeles in 2028, marking the third time the city hosts the Games and the first time for the Paralympics.

According to the official website, over 80 venues will be established in Southern California for the event, promising spectators unparalleled viewing experiences.

Olympic Games’ locations are decided years in advance; Los Angeles won its bid in 2017.

Brisbane, Australia, has also been chosen to host the 2032 Games.
