Zac Efron has been hospitalized following an incident in Ibiza.
The Hollywood actor has been touring various parts of Europe recently and attended ‘Prelude To The Olympics’ at Fondation Louis Vuitton on July 25 in Paris, France.
Efron has also been seen enjoying his time in Ibiza, even joining his close friend Martin Garrix on stage during his DJ set at Ushuaïa, reminiscent of scenes from his 2015 movie “We Are Your Friends.”
The 36-year-old actor is believed to be residing in a villa on the island, where he reportedly experienced an incident while in the pool.
Reports suggest that Efron became distressed in the water for an unknown reason and was assisted out by two villa staff members.
As a precaution, he was taken to the hospital on August 3.
A representative for Efron confirmed to TMZ that he was involved in a “minor swimming incident” at the villa.
According to the outlet, the star of “The Iron Claw” is now recovering.
Efron is familiar with hospital visits due to accidents, having “nearly died” in a 2013 incident that resulted in a broken jaw.
He was reportedly running through his home in socks when he slipped and hit his face on a granite fountain.
This led to surgery, during which his jaw was wired shut for a time. The actor also underwent physical therapy afterward.
Efron has said that this accident is why the shape of his face has changed over the years, as different muscles had to compensate for his near-fatal injury.
As of 2022, he was still undergoing physical therapy to correct these issues.
Efron noted that he had to pause therapy while filming the second season of “Down to Earth with Zac Efron” in Australia. He told Men’s Health: “The masseters just grew. They just got really, really big.”
The masseter muscles are responsible for chewing and are located on both sides of the jaw.
We hope Efron’s recent incident is far less serious.
