19-Year-Old Student Dies After Falling from Hotel Balcony in Ibiza

The identity of the 19-year-old who tragically fell from a sixth-floor balcony has been disclosed, leading to an outpouring of tributes.

Emma Ramsay, a Scottish teenager, was on vacation with friends in Ibiza’s famed party district in San Antonio when the incident occurred.

Emma, a student at Strathclyde University, fell from the sixth floor of Hotel Vibra District at approximately 3 AM on August 20, resulting in her tragic death.

Emergency services were promptly summoned but, despite their efforts, Emma could not be saved and was declared dead at the scene.

Social media posts reveal that Emma had been enjoying a night out with friends at Hï Ibiza nightclub just hours before the accident.

Her parents have already traveled to the Balearic Island.

Friends of Emma have expressed their grief on social media following her untimely death.

Paris Mcgoldrick, one of Emma’s friends, posted on Facebook: “I don’t even know where to begin with how perfect our Emma was. I loved everything about you and I forever will.

“Heaven just gained the most beautiful angel they will ever get and I’m forever grateful to call you my friend. I will forever cherish the moments we shared together, Em.”

In her tribute, Paris added: “I love you forever my girl, you will never be forgotten.”

Emma’s former teachers from St John Ogilvie High School have also paid their respects, describing her as ‘incredibly kind’ and a dedicated student.

The school’s headteacher, Lorna Lawson, stated: “We are shocked and saddened at the heartbreaking news of the sudden passing of our former Head Girl, Emma Ramsay.

“Emma was an incredibly kind, hardworking, bright and talented pupil who contributed a great deal to our school community.”

She added: “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Emma will be missed and will forever hold a special place in our school.

“Emma was a lovely girl, caring and considerate and many of our staff have truly fond memories of her time with us.”

Colette Watson, the headteacher of Emma’s primary school, also expressed her condolences, showing the widespread impact Emma had during her life.

She remarked: “This is terribly sad news, and our thoughts, prayers and profound sympathies go out to Emma’s family and friends.”
