Slipknot’s Sid Wilson Hospitalized with ‘Serious Burns’ After ‘Explosion’ Incident

Slipknot’s Sid Wilson has sustained significant injuries after reportedly ‘setting himself on fire’.

The heavy metal musician posted on social media from a hospital bed, reassuring his fans that he is ‘okay’ despite having been involved in an ‘explosion’. Medical staff can be seen attending to him in the background.

The 47-year-old, who is in a relationship with Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, and mother to his only child, spoke to his phone while visibly shaking, assuring fans of his condition.

In a five-minute video, Wilson described the severity of his burns, revealing that they were extensive.

Visibly distressed, the US DJ addressed the camera: “Hi everybody, I had an explosion in my face, I’m okay, I’m going to be okay. But I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms.”

He further added: “I’m singed everywhere, my eyebrows are singed, my mouth has blistered, my arms pretty bad, both my arms.”

Wilson explained that his shaking was causing the camera to move and assured Slipknot fans that he would resume touring as soon as he recovered.

He stated: “I’m going to be all right, you guys. I don’t care what it takes, I will see you on tour.”

Throughout the video, medical personnel were seen attending to him, and he even underwent a chest X-ray to ensure he hadn’t inhaled flames.

He later uploaded a second, 15-minute-long video to his Instagram Story, live streaming from the back of an emergency vehicle. In this video, he is seen wearing large black glasses, with what appears to be vaseline on his burns, and heart rate monitoring wires attached to him.

His partner, Kelly Osbourne, also appeared in the video, warning fans about the dangers of ‘burn piles’.

She stated: “This is why you don’t f*** with burn piles. He literally set himself on fire, exploded everything.”

Slipknot addressed the incident in a statement posted on Instagram.

The band stated: “Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body.

“He’s recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend.

“He thanks everyone for the well wishes, and will see you all soon.”

Slipknot’s world tour, aptly named ‘Here Comes the Pain’ following Wilson’s injuries, is set to kick off next Sunday (September 1) in Oklahoma and will conclude in Austria on June 12, 2025.
