Eerie Footage of Woman Waving on Lake Marks Her Last Known Appearance Before Mysterious Disappearance

The latest footage of Nancy Ng during her yoga retreat in Guatemala before she disappeared has been made public.

On October 14, 2023, the 29-year-old teaching assistant from Monterey Park, California, embarked on her second consecutive yoga retreat in Guatemala.

However, five days into her trip, she went missing, with the last known sighting being during a kayaking outing on Lake Atitlán.

Nancy’s family informed ABC7 that the retreat organizers reached out to them, reporting that Nancy had not been seen since the kayaking excursion.

Guatemalan authorities told ABC News they believed Nancy had ‘drowned,’ and local fire and rescue teams noted that her kayak was found.

Nancy’s family subsequently decided to employ a private search team.

Black Wolf Helicopters led the search effort, with the company’s owner, Chris Sharpe, noting that ’90-95 percent of the lake’ was ‘searched’ using a combination of ‘boat crews’ along with drones and helicopters.

Despite these extensive efforts, no new information was uncovered, with difficult terrain and scarce details complicating the search.

Now, Nancy’s family has released a video believed to capture her last moments before she vanished.

This footage, taken on the day she was last seen, shows Nancy paddling her kayak on the lake and even turning to wave at the camera.

The family is calling on members of the yoga group to come forward if they have any information that could assist in the search.

One woman from the retreat has since come forward through her attorney, stating that she and Nancy ‘happened upon each other on the lake’.

According to the attorney, the woman ‘tried to tell [Nancy] not to swim because it was rough out there and there was a good current,’ but Nancy allegedly went out regardless.

The woman attempted to return to Nancy, but by the time she ‘turned around to get back,’ Nancy was gone.

The partner of Nancy’s younger sister has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support the search efforts.

The campaign page reads: “[Nancy] loves yoga, traveling, hiking with her family, and cuddling with her cat. She has a kind heart, a big smile, and can talk to anyone about anything (and often, everything). She’s a caring daughter, a loving sister, and a supportive friend.”

“With the help of Guatemala’s National Tourism Assistance Program and some kind locals, we have mobilized search and rescue efforts. The purpose of this fundraiser is to help support these efforts as well as the Ng Family as they navigate this unfamiliar, terrifying situation.”

“It’s never easy to ask for money. It’s even harder under these circumstances. But any contribution, big or small, will go a long way in helping us do all we can to find Nancy and assure the Ng Family that they are not alone. If you can donate, please do. And if you do, please leave a note or say a prayer for Nancy and her family. It’ll mean so much to them.”

The FBI is reportedly providing Guatemalan authorities with resources to aid the search, and the state department remains in contact with local officials.
