Woman ignites discussion on plane etiquette after criticizing passenger for leaning over to snap window photo

Regarding travel etiquette, there are certain actions you should take and others you should avoid.

One of the major missteps while traveling is failing to respect the personal space of fellow passengers.

A recent incident involving a woman has ignited a discussion about proper conduct on planes, after she shared her experience on a recent flight.

Fanny Gagnon O’Donnell, hailing from Montreal, recently flew from Germany to Spain on a three-hour flight.

During this journey, she encountered some peculiar behavior from the passenger seated next to her.

For those who prefer a window seat, securing one without extra cost is always a delight.

Conversely, the middle seat is often considered one of the least desirable, which might shed light on the behavior O’Donnell experienced.

On her TikTok account, @fanntayeule, O’Donnell expressed her joy at getting the window seat and even shared a photo with her mom.

However, her excitement was short-lived.

“The guy next to me didn’t know what was personal space,” she stated, showing footage of the man leaning over her to snap photos out of the window.

“I was confused at first but thought it was gonna be a one-time thing.”

To her surprise, the man continued this behavior for the entire flight.

“I let him do his thing,” she said, sharing more clips of the man’s arm intruding into her space.

“Woop, there he is again.”

This incident sparked numerous reactions on TikTok, with many sharing their opinions.

Some users were adamant they would never invade someone’s personal space like that, with one commenting: “Nah bc I felt awkward AF when I had the middle seat and even LOOKED out the window… felt like I was invading their space just with my vision… I can’t even imagine doing this.”

Others shared similar experiences, with one user adding: “I had the same passenger next to me last time – I just closed the window.”

Another shared: “This happened to me once except it was the sweetest old man and he asked permission each time he wanted to take a photo.”

Some didn’t see an issue, expressing that it wasn’t a big deal.

“It’s not that bad. Just let him take a pic. He’s excited, it’s cute,” one said.

And another noted: “Just let him take a few pictures I don’t see a problem he likes it to enjoy it together be nice.”
