Channing Tatum has alleged that his ex-wife Jenna Dewan is attempting to delay their divorce proceedings.
The couple remains embroiled in ongoing litigation over the division of the Magic Mike film franchise.
The Blink Twice star has now claimed that Dewan’s legal team’s motion to dismiss his attorneys from Glaser Weil and Blank Rome is merely a “delay tactic to prolong our divorce case.”
A statement from Tatum’s lawyers indicated that he “has made exhaustive efforts to settle all issues in this matter without litigation.”
The statement continued, noting that Tatum made “countless settlement proposals, attended multiple mediations, his attorneys have prepared numerous drafts of a proposed judgment, and he has tried to resolve issues directly.”
Dewan’s filing to have Tatum’s lawyers dismissed asserts that there was a conflict of interest because these lawyers were previously involved in selling parts of business entities owned by Tatum.
In response, Dewan’s filing denied Tatum’s representatives’ claims and accused Tatum of attempting to “stall the trial proceedings by blocking the release of relevant and material documents regarding Magic Mike transactions that Jenna is entitled to receive.”
Court documents obtained by PEOPLE stated: “In reality, Channing is using every trick in the book to stall this case from getting to a trial. He is depriving Jenna of a fair and equal share of the community estate, and he is prejudicing her every day that this case continues.”
The documents added: “As long as this divorce case lingers on, he will continue to enjoy the unfair benefit of collecting the ‘Magic Mike’ proceeds without paying Jenna her fair share – something he has been doing for years.”
Dewan initiated the divorce from Tatum in October 2018, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Although the divorce was officially finalized in 2019, Tatum and Dewan continue to face legal disputes over transactions related to the Magic Mike franchise.
Dewan claims she is owed a portion of the franchise’s proceeds.
Tatum has acknowledged Dewan’s entitlement to a share but disputes her claim for 50 percent.
Additionally, Dewan has accused Tatum of withholding documentation pertinent to the case.
The legal battle continues.
