A relaxing outing turned eerie for a British family when they noticed a terrifying detail in one of their photographs.
The unsettling experience began when Laura Watson, a mother from the UK, took her daughter, Charlotte, her son, Dyrin, and their cousin, Jack, to Plessey Woods Country Park in Northumberland for a day out.
The family enjoyed a picnic and the children busied themselves with climbing a large tree.
Laura took several pictures to capture the fun, but it was only later, upon reviewing the photos, that she noticed something strange.
One photo in particular caught her attention. It showed Charlotte lying along the branch of a tree while Byrin stood at its base.
At first glance, Laura thought the photo captured only her children. However, a closer look revealed a third face that seemed to belong to a young boy standing behind Byrin.
“It’s very unusual and everyone is really freaked out,” Laura commented about the image.
“Me and my daughter couldn’t even go to sleep last night because we were so scared.”
Previously skeptical of the paranormal, Laura admitted the photo made her reconsider her beliefs. She even expressed fear that ‘something’ might have followed her home.
“My husband is on night shifts and I was alone and I was like ‘Oh God’. I was terrified in case anything had followed us back,” she explained.
“I’ve had people on our Facebook saying they are going to send me prayers. I didn’t believe in anything like that until I saw this for myself.”
After sharing the photo, Laura was inundated with messages speculating about the identity of the mysterious face.
Some suggested it could be the spirit of a boy who drowned in the woods years ago.
“People are asking if Byrin had a twin and if he died but he had nothing like that. I’ve not had any kids die in my family so it couldn’t be anyone that I know,” Laura continued.
“It certainly isn’t something that I’m familiar with. I’ve never, ever experienced anything like it in my life.”
