A body language expert has identified some ‘red flags’ in the interactions between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after they were seen together at the US Open.
Swift and Kelce were observed singing, dancing, and getting cozy as they stood in the crowd during the men’s final between Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz on September 8.
The couple appeared affectionate as they walked hand-in-hand into the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. However, body language expert Darren Staton closely analyzed their movements and noted some significant points.
Speaking to Tyla on behalf of Spin Genie, Darren suggested that Kelce’s energy levels seem to have ‘decreased’ compared to earlier stages of his relationship with Swift.
He explained that the couple began ‘quite full on, very tactile, very touchy feely,’ adding: “Travis was going around the world to support her on her Era’s tour.
“Initially, when they were pictured walking anywhere, they were all over each other, he would have his arms round her from the back, hugging her really tightly,” Darren said.
“Their matching and mirroring of body language was much greater, and they would meet each other in the middle with their gestures, showing a strong connection.”
Currently, however, Darren believes the level of interpersonal attraction ‘appears to have decreased in public.’
Darren said: “The PDA from the pair was very full on for a while, holding hands and kissing in public, but this seems to have decreased as time has gone on. He’s only really trying when she’s looking.”
Meanwhile, he described Swift as ‘a firework as usual.’
“It’s only when she looks at him that he really engages,” he added.
“A lot of the signs that were initially present such as the prolonged eye contact and PDA, the tactile moments that were put out, are no longer appearing as strong or operating on the same level as before.”
Where the pair once exchanged quick kisses or were caught glancing at each other, Darren noted: “We’ve not seen that in recent weeks, so I believe he is becoming less interested with the ‘Taylor Swift circus’.
“Even though he is used to the razzmatazz of American football, he’s never experienced anything like this.”
Although only Swift and Kelce know the true state of their relationship, Darren suggested it ‘no longer feels authentic.’
“[It] feels as though Taylor is always on duty,” he said.
Darren speculated that Kelce might be ‘overwhelmed’ by the attention surrounding his relationship with Swift, potentially reaching a point where it’s too much for him.
“I believe we will continue to see a gradual decrease in these gestures and signatures with their behavior over the coming weeks,” he concluded.
We will have to wait to see if Darren’s predictions materialize – but fans of the couple certainly hope they don’t!
