Dave Grohl addresses viral claim about his alleged secret love child

Dave Grohl’s team has issued a response following an Instagram post that purportedly revealed his ‘secret’ child.

The child is no longer a secret, as the Foo Fighters frontman took to social media to confess to infidelity and fathering a child with another woman.

On September 10, Grohl posted on Instagram: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage.”

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

Shortly after, an Instagram user shared an image of a baby, claiming the child to be Grohl’s.

The now-deactivated account – @valeriegreyston – posted a photo of a woman’s hand being held by a small child’s fingers, with a pink blanket and floral top visible.

The post read: “My sweet Roxie Junie Grohl, being you mama has already been the most incredible experience of my life. Every day, I fall more in love with you and this new role.”

“Your daddy, was by my side through the entire pregnancy, making sure we were both taken care of, and I’m so grateful for his love and support.”

“I’m new to this whole baby mama thing, but I promise to always do my best for you. As much as I want to share my joy with the world, I also need to protect our privacy right now. I’m happy everyone knows about you though, because you are such a special part of my life.”

The caption also mentioned how Grohl’s features are evident in the baby’s face, from the shape of her eyes to her crinkling nose.

“You are truly Grohl through and through,” the post continued. “It’s amazing how much of him is already shining in you. Your dad is so proud that you carry on his family’s spirit and I can already tell you have the same strength and kindness in you.”

The post concluded by thanking everyone for their ‘love and support’ and included hashtags with the baby’s name and Grohl’s.

The post and account have since been deleted, and Grohl’s representatives told TMZ that the claims are false and the baby in the post is not his.

So, there’s a lesson to not believe everything you see on social media.
