Travis Kelce’s mother has shared her thoughts on his relationship with Taylor Swift, and it’s clear she’s quite pleased about it.
Currently, Swift and Kelce are arguably the most talked-about celebrity couple.
Kelce mentioned that they first crossed paths when Swift performed at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, which is his home stadium, and the rest, as they say, is history.
This year has been quite eventful for them, with Kelce’s Super Bowl triumph, the ‘Blank Space’ singer facing boos at NFL games, and Kelce making several appearances at Swift’s Era Tours, living the dream of many Swift fans.
Despite the intense media scrutiny surrounding their relationship, many agree that Kelce and Swift appear to be very happy together.
Kelce’s mom has indeed given her approval of the relationship.
Page Six interviewed Donna Kelce at the premiere of Grotesquerie in New York City.
The horror fiction series, featuring Kelce, is set to premiere on FX in the US on Wednesday, September 25.
Donna described her son’s relationship with Swift as ‘kind of interesting’. She added: “He’s a good guy. He really is. He’s good. He’s kind. He’s generous. And from what I understand, so is she.
“I hope they’re having a good time.”
Donna also expressed her pride in seeing her son take on a role in Ryan Murphy’s ten-part series, which follows a detective (Niecy Nash) working with a nun (Lesley Manville) to solve a series of horrific crimes.
She said: “Oh, it’s so awesome. Just to be able to see your kids do what they absolutely love to do, and hopefully this is something he likes! I know he wanted to try [acting], so we’ll see how it goes.”
According to the outlet, she mentioned that she had always advised her children: “If you do something you love to do, you will get really good at it.”
Donna is also the mother of football star Jason Kelce. The brothers faced off at Super Bowl LVII, where Travis’ Chiefs defeated Jason’s Eagles.
While Donna was understandably torn on that February 2023 day, she remains very proud of both her sons.
Discussing her sons’ careers, she remarked: “It’s just been taking off. I just can’t believe what’s happened over the last couple years.”
Donna also described it as a ‘whirlwind’ to witness both her sons playing in the Super Bowl.
She noted that everything changed when ‘both teams got good enough to play each other in the Super Bowl.’
