Ric Flair, the well-known WWE star, has been hit by tragedy as his stepson, Sebastian Kidder, has passed away at the young age of 24, according to his mother.
Flair tied the knot with Sebastian’s mother, Wendy Barlow, in 2018. The couple had been together for 13 years before recently announcing their separation.
Wendy Barlow expressed her grief in a heartfelt statement to TMZ Sports, saying, “I am devastated and shocked. This is an epidemic with your young men. And mental health…”
According to TMZ, Sebastian was discovered on Saturday, October 26, with a gunshot wound.
The police are actively investigating the circumstances leading up to this unfortunate event.
In the music world, Sebastian was recognized as a promising new artist, having recently released his first studio album titled Under The Moon.
Over the summer, the musician was actively promoting his album, making appearances in various media outlets.
In an interview with Kaitlyn Pratt on Good Day Atlanta, Sebastian jokingly remarked, “It’s a lot of pain, a lot of suffering, a lot of crying in a corner just hoping the words come out. No, I’m kidding of course.
“Very romance-filled is probably the core of the album. I’d say romance and a lot of sexual energy.”
Sebastian also made a name for himself in acting, having appeared in The Walking Dead at the age of 10.
Being under the public eye at such a young age posed its challenges, a topic Sebastian had previously addressed.
In an interview with Fox 5 Atlanta, he commended his mother’s role in helping him handle the pressures.
“I’d say my mom was definitely a big inspiration,” he said. “She was the one who got me started and everything. She got that gig on The Walking Dead, so that was really big.”
Sebastian acknowledged that his mom played a crucial role in his decision to pursue music.
He explained, “I recorded the cover and didn’t think anything of it but my mom got ahold of it and started sending it around to people. You get traction and roll with it.”
In the same conversation, he shared his experience of having Ric Flair as a stepfather.
“Growing up with Ric as a stepdad was very different, very unique,” Sebastian said. “You go out to a family meal and you are just surrounded by fans, people coming up and wanting pictures. You are already exposed to it from an early age.”
