Hugh Jackman has shared his thoughts on Martha Stewart’s controversial assertion that Ryan Reynolds is “not funny.”
Despite his success in comedic roles, Ryan Reynolds seems to have failed to amuse one particular celebrity.
During her guest appearance on the Rent Free game show, Martha Stewart criticized Reynolds, highlighting her lack of amusement with his humor.
When asked about her most entertaining friends, Stewart mentioned Snoop Dogg but also noted Reynolds, questioning his comedic abilities.
“He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face — Ryan Reynolds, is he one of those?” she stated.
“And you want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life,” she continued. “No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”
Stewart didn’t stop there, reiterating her point later in the program.
She elaborated: “He’s a good actor. He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again.”
“I’m going to get in trouble. He’s my neighbor.”
In response to Stewart’s remarks, Reynolds took to Twitter: “I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.”
Hugh Jackman, who worked with Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine, has now chimed in on the discussion.
“Finally someone says it,” Jackman humorously remarked following Reynolds’ tweet.
Stewart’s comments have sparked a debate online.
“Martha’s out here spilling tea for no reason and I love the chaotic energy,” a Twitter user commented.
In contrast, another user argued: “If someone can act funny they are funny.”
Others added: “I mean I’m all for a good drag but because somebody is your neighbor doesn’t mean they have to entertain you and make you cry with laughter when putting the bins out.”
Another joked: “Hmm how do you go on the internet and talk abt ur neighbors like aren’t you gonna go home and see them in the neighborhood the next day?”
